A lot depends on the population in your area. I'm in the dallas/ft. worth area and alot of really good baseball is played around here. There are a handful of kids every yer thowing around 95. The hardest thrower i faced personally this year was throwing 91-95 all night. He got drafted in the 10 or 11 round.
I'm in the DFW area also, I only play JV, but our hardest throwers on Varsity were mid eighties. I know there is one guy in mansfield I beleive, that has a 99 mph fastball. wow, amazing for a hs kid. I would be scared to face him.
There are a few pitchers that throw low 90's in the Chicago area. Jamaal Hollis-Whitney Young HS Wade Kapteyn-Illiana Christian Cedric Redmond-Joliet Township All of these players were drafted.
adam, yeah jordan walden. He got drafted in about the 13 round i believe. At the begining of the year he was throwing 95-98, i think as the season went on he more like 93-96. thats just what i've heard. not to mention he lead 5A in homeruns.
i played varsity as a fish. it was a huge jump. we faced a kid from richardson pierce lefty throwin 94 it was pretty freakin hard but 90 was common in our district. texas 5-5a
Well i didnt face all the guys on varsity cuz i got called up near the end of the year but on JV we faced a kid throwing 86 as a freshman. I was like call him up to Varsity cuz he was a lefty also.
On varisty was faced a lefty sophmore and he threw a constant 89 with nasty breakin pitches. He pumped one up to 92 once or twice.
i've heard of a guy throwing 95 but his arms shot theres a lot around 93 though. if you don't have location location location ill knock the heck outa the ball no matter how fast you throw.
