Just spitballing but why do all pitchers not do a PRP treatment post season to maintenance micro or slight UCL tears. At this point we know near all pitchers have slight SLAB or UCL tears so why not treat it after the season while in the rest period.

My son had PRP & TJS and something we were considering as a precaution.

He had it once?

If it were that simple and inexpensive, then everyone would be doing it, but my understanding is that it is done as a course of treatment, not just once.

The micro tears will heal themselves, it is those larger tears where surgery is required that some opt for RPR as an alternative.

They may have felt it would benefit your son after TJS for healing purposes but realistically there is no proof (as far as I know) that it may have helped or not.
