What is the ruling on the color of the pitcher's glove, We have had several players told they cannot use their glove, need a solid color glove, no two tone gloves. Any one know the exact rule?
So as long as ther glove is not two-tone it's OK? It can be solid blue, red, green, purple, or (insert color here), basically any color except white or two-tone? I've seen mitts such as these and wondered if they are legal for pitching.
I have my state mandated Chapter rules meeting tonight with the NFHS rules interpreter. I will bring this up to get the latest interpretation.....will advise.
Official interpretation stated that we are to allow brown and tan gloves. They are acceptable because tan is considered a shade of brown and not a different color.
Dave, the point is well taken....as is the humor of the situation......We have had umpires say that the official interpretation goes against the rules, which state the glove must be uniform in color.....the definition of uniform seems to think that brown and tan are not "uniform"...
