Pitching: Coach Bill Thurston is Back

Most Valuable Player is honored to have Amherst Head Coach and highly respected Pitching Consultant Coach Bill Thurston.

Spend two (2)hours staying within your own style, but learning to pitch with a less stressful and more efficient Pitching Motion.

Coach Thurston knowledge of pitching has been awarded by Dr. Andrews (Tommy John Surgery Fame) for his contributions to Sports Medicine.

Coach Thurston will take each pitcher through 1) dry work, 2) flat ground, 3) minor mechanical adjustments, 4) throwing from the set position, 5) the fast ball, change, curve, and 6) control drills.

This is the Perfect Warm Up for any Pitcher attending a Winter Showcase or Camp

When: Friday 12 Jan and Saturday 13 Jan 2007

Friday 12 Jan: 7-9:00 PM
Saturday 13 Jan: 8:30-10:30 AM (12-14 year olds)
Saturday 13 Jan: 10:45-12:45 PM
Saturday 13 Jan: 1-3:00 PM

First I would like to wish everyone much success in 2007!

In response to the numerous request for Coach Bill Thurston to make his Friday Night Pitching Presentation Pitchers, Parents, and Coaches I have agreed

1) to reinstituted it Friday night, 7-9:00 PM at a minimal cost of only $10.00/person.

I agree, the presentation is well worth it and I look forward to meeting with all the coaches, parents of pitchers, and the pitchers themselves.

It seems in my effort to make some changes after several request I have confused a lot of people. I am very sorry.

1. The Friday night seminar is FREE to the Pitchers who have registered for a Saturday 2 hour clinic.

2. The Friday night seminar is only $10/person for the other attendees.

3. Coaches with pitchers from their team, and parents of the pitchers are allowed to stay and watch the 2 hour Saturday clinic for FREE.

4. The Saturday workout is not strenous, it more about fine tuning which will help any pitcher attending a showcase or clinic. It truly is worth it to do both.

Hope I've done a better job of trying to clarify.
