Speed is over rated. Every one is so caught up with throwing 90+ MPH. That we're forgetting the importance of hitting our spots, and keeping the batters off balance. The art of Pitching is being over shadowed by the thought
of needing to Throw harder. Who would you want to be? Greg Maddox Cy yung award winner or Kyel
Farnswerth, " carefull don't let the door hit you on the way out the door"
Out of the hand is going to be the highest reading that the gun will register, then as it gets closer to the plate the speed will decrease. I have found that it generally doesnt matter where you stand if you have a good gun. I have stood behind the pitcher and the plate. Too far off to the side could affect the at the plate reading. Velocity may be overrated, but I would rather have it then not have it.

Stalker Pro is the best...and you are right, a bit pricey. Seems like someone should be able to make a quality gun at a reasonable cost. Anyway, velocity is overrated. But out of hand will be fastest. Like trying to get midpitch velocities, but it can be difficult. At least midpitch velocities give you a fair average of out of hand and at the plate velocity. Too bad we haven't invented a gun that measures pitch movement. The whole evalutation process would be flipped on its head.
