13U Tournament today. Same game as the above-mentioned punk catcher.

Tournament pitching rules say a pitcher can throw no more than 7 innings in one day. However, printed rules do not specify the consequences of breaking this rule.

Very tight, back and forth game. Their starting pitcher goes out to the mound in the 8th inning. We let him throw one pitch then complain to the umpires.

They check with the tournament director. His response, just remove the pitcher and get a new one. And, the strike he just threw counts.

Nice rules. In my past experience, that pitcher and the manager get ejected. Put the count back to 0-0 and get a new pitcher.

If they don't enforce rules, why have them.

Who cares...we won.

you have a copy of the rules that the tournament was being played under correct?....and if so, you were suprized that there was no penalty?.....

But from your post it seems you did not have a copy and took the TD at his word for what the penalty was......IN PONY for example....going over the pitching limit results in immediate removal of the pitcher and the ejection of the manager......

Advice one.....make sure you have a copy of the Tournament rules in advance....then you will never be suprized or disapointed.......
