We do this occasionally. I have done this with picks/PFP also. As far as pitching mechanics, here is some of the stuff we do:

Laying Down drill...lay flat on back and flip ball to partner in front of you. We are concentrating on arm slot..many young guys are below a 90 degree angle. No matter where your slot is, you should be greater than 90 degrees.

Walking Windup...Instead of the first step to the side or back, we walk forward. This helps the pitcher get moving toward home plate. You can also throw on this one, but it isn't necessary.

Wall Drill...Get away from the wall...Paul Reddick talks a lot about this, but I can try to explain if need be.

Extension Throwing...throwing down and away...if you can do this consistently, you are mechanically sound...this is just a good "mechanics check" for young guys.

3rd base throws...we do this when we feel good...in between a long toss and a pull-down phase. We get at 3rd base and drive step and throw on a line to 1B. This helps with attacking the hitter.

I will also add in drills if there is something that one group of pitchers is specifically struggling with. I also have added in agilities, picks...even things like taking signs and shaking for frosh pitchers.

I am not a big drill guy at all, but for younger guys it can really be telling as to what is going on, and can be something productive to do while the field is in use.
