Players are nominated by their hs coach, very heavily scouted event. They also pick the the players for both Team Illinois for the Midwest Classic Tournament.

Interestingly, the players from the Rockford (and surrounding) area participate in the Plainfield event instead of Stevenson. I'm not at all certain how the geography works.

Our coaches most definitely nominate their top players.
If invited you should go to either stevenson or plainfield as the price is right and scouts ranging from pro to juco and everything in between.

I thought in the msl the coaches nominate and then players are voted on by the conference coaches.

If playball is around he would know how it works as he coaches in that conference and I think he even coaches at the event at times.

Eight conferences are represented at the Northwest Suburban Baseball Tournament, aka "Stevenson" (which is this weekend): Fox Valley, North Suburban, Central Suburban, Mid Suburban, West Suburban, East Suburban Catholic, Upstate 8 and DuPage Valley.

When Junior attended, his U-8 coach nominated and the conference coaches voted. The process was done in conjunction with all-conference selections.

For the Plainfield event, I am not quite too sure of all the conferences but most are south of 55 and they include the Chicago Catholic League.

Harvey Foster and crew do a tremendous job and it's a great opportunity to show skills and meet coaches.
