Ringer1, sorry to hear about the loss. Looks like it was a hard fought game. Hope to be at Rowlett for the game(s) tomorrow! Good Luck to Chase on the mound. Will that be Castilla vs. Emons?? Eek Should be good.
Got to watch Tomi Garrison throw a perfect game tonight as Garland beat North Mesquite and move on in the softball playoffs.

Go Owls and Go Eagles!!
Congratulations to Rowlett. It's a tough day for me as I watched PSIII play his last HS game. He played 118 varsity games at Plano East -- and walked off the field for the last time today. (tougher than I thought it would be)

It was a wild day at Rowlett. Ringer1 or FBM or Ed Sir can recap. The best team won today but we offered a little scare and I'm proud of the Panthers' performance in the series.

...but now, think how exciting it's going to be to see him step onto the Mizzou field for the FIRST time.

Great 4 years, PSIII!
What a crazy three game series!!!!!

Pitching duel in the first game then a hit-a-thon!!!

Let me say that PSIII played great all day. PD, you should be proud.
Justin Snider kicked butt!!! Navarro, FBM, and Ed Sir are lucky to have you!!!

Now on Rowlett's side...Hamblin hit TWO HOMERS and TWO DOUBLES!!!! Heck of a series!!!!!!

But overall, this was a TEAM win!!! Our kids never gave up!!!!!!

Thank you all for the kind works. My intent wasn't really to bring attention to Jeff.....but more to communicate the feelings we experienced when it was over......maybe I'll open another topic sometime....I know Robert and LHPDAD and others are feeling the same emotions.

Ringer1, congratulations to your son as well. He was there for his team all weekend.....great heart and effort.

Ringer -- in response to your comment -- I have never blamed an ump for a game's result in his 4 years at East (I did that once when my oldest son was there when I was young and didn't know better) Cool but the umpiring crew yesterday was weak. It is obvious that they are not used to 4-man crews and they didn't know how to position themselves to make calls.....and fell asleep too often because they were not constantly moving. The home plate ump was just bad. In game 3....when the pitching is weaker, why adopt a postage stamp strike zone? Let's just say both coaches felt like he had a "bad" day.....and I doubt that he calls the next series for Rowlett. With that said (just an opinion), the umps did not determine the outcome.

Several kids had very good days. Hamlin crushed the ball.....Emens was 5-8 with 3 doubles....Snider had a 2B and 2 HR, one an absolute BOMB!....Loy was on base all day....Smith played great D....the Eagles catcher blocked balls all day long.....their outfielder's had key hits....Derek Bell pitched good enough to win yesterday's game 1 and he had 2 key doubles in game 2.....team efforts on both sides. Rowlett is the better team. The better team won. Smile In game 3, Rowlett led 7-0 after 2, then found themselves behind 14-9 after 3.5 before battling back. There were 17 runs scored in the 4th inning. It was crazy.

Pantherdad enters a new era Smile I just wish it was a fews weeks from now. Hey, maybe I'll become.....controversial. Big Grin

Ringer,
The best team won the series and I am still just exhausted after watching that all day marathon. I am so tired this morning and still have 3rd base coaching responsibilities this afternoon for a 9 yr old softball game.

The umping was bad for the whole series but at least they were consistantly bad for both teams. Good luck to Chase as he continues his baseball dreams.

Eventhough Ryan is done with baseball; he will look back and remember all the good times he had playing this great game and all the friends he has made. God had a plan for Ryan playing baseball and he showed many that being shorthanded is not the end of the world.
Eastside Panther,

Ryan has touched the lives of numerous baseball players and fans over the course of his baseball career. I'll never forget Collikar son's one and two watching with awe as he played. Their eyes finally saw the big picture. God's plan will continue working for enrichment of other's. Obviously, Ryan's a product of a great environment.

Here's to continued success, because it's not always measured by wins!
