The '08 state champ Wolves back to Round Rock with thrilling win in Abilene over Lubbock Monterey.. West scored winning run on a fielder's choice as Monterey tried to turn double play with one out and bases loaded...

west got one hit in bottom of 10th, walk and error .. great game.. back and forth... huber and blum needed in a one-gamer...

West will find out who they meet in semifinal when UIL announces pairings Sunday morning.. semifinals are 3 pm and 6 pm Friday with the state final noon saturday...wolves know the drill

ABILENE An RBI groundout with the bases loaded by Plano West’s Toran Tillotson ended a marathon playoff 5-4 and cut short Lubbock Monterey’s improbable run to the Region I-5A final. Plano West (24-11-2) advances to the Class 5A UIL State Championships in Round Rock by outlasting a s****** Plainsmen team that battled all the way to the regional final after slipping into the postseason with a playoff win over Odessa High for the fourth and final playoff spot. Trying to finish out after coming on in relief, Nicholson allowed Plano West to load the bases with one out, and Tillotson’s groundout to the shortstop failed to net the double play needed to keep Plano West from scoring the winning run.
