Considering buying either the "Personal Pro" or "Crusher" brand wiffle golf-ball pitching machines for my high school team. Does anyone have any experience with either of these (or others)? Which one would you recommend? Also, they throw either plastic or foam golf balls, which of these is better? Any advice on which one to purchase or the use of the machines is appreciated.

We had the "chucker", which I think was the precursor to the crusher. Had a blast with it, but finally destroyed it by using it every day and not taking very good care of it. We bought the Personal Pro and didn't like it from the start. There wasn't a good support system between the tripod and the machine, and it wobbled. It lasted about a month. If I were to buy another, it would be the crusher.

As to foam or plastic, my son says this: plastic moves more like a baseball, foam tends to float. Also, if you're in a small area, plastic doesn't go as far once it's hit so the balls are easier to collect. If you use the machine in your back yard, be ready to get lots of whiffle balls out of your gutters! Smile
