Player coming in to a new HC situation and being his first recruiting class

Has anyone had the experience of being a recruit to a new HC coming in? How did it go for your son? What was it like from your sons standpoint or yours regarding the whole situation? It seems odd to me almost like this coach is bringing in his "own" team/players to an extent and wondering if it will cause rifts in the current team, families etc.
Just your thoughts on the topic in general.

Son is currently in a similar situation as a 2nd year player; although the new HC was hired too late to bring in a recruiting class for this year. As I write this, he is currently meeting with the HC.

As a Dad, I'm a little anxious. He, of coarse, doesn't seemed worried at all. Time will tell...

He really loves the school and his situation there. I'm looking forward to what the new coach has to say.
