Player joining a team to play in a tournament

Just a question for those that may know...

I have seen teams looking for players and players looking for teams for tournaments like the upcoming one in Jupiter. How does that usually work? Does the player fly to Jupiter and meet up with the team there. Do you pay a fee to the team to play for them? Do they supply a uniform for you, do you stay with them team etc..

Just curious as to how that usually works?

How it works for us---cannot speak for others

Players fly to Jupiter and meet at hotel where team is located---there is team block of rooms
Yes they pay a fee
Yes they are given a uniform
Parents are invited toi join the player
Where possible new players will join us for a tournament the weekend before Jupiter

When we started looking for a team for Jupiter, it was about 5 weeks before the event and the team invited Junior to join them for the weekend tournaments they were playing in upcoming the Jupiter event.

In this case, Junior was required to buy the uniform, and pay a fee...although I will say it was all reasonable.

We just did this for the Ft. Myers Underclass event. We paid our travel, coach reserved a block of rooms, but we paid, he provided uniforms. Each kid got an undershirt with logo and number, a hat and a button up jersey. They all kept the hat and undershirt and gave back the jersey. Coach split the entry fee between all players. The only thing we paid the team was $100 for the tournament entry fee.
