Players needed for summer wood bat league

What info do you want?

Will all games/practices be on local fields? What days? What times? What if any costs will there be? I guess that's a good start. Thanks again for any/all info.

Chris Parsons from the Tidewater Drillers ran this league last year. He know longer wants to do it. We would like to keep the league alive. We need 3 or 4 teams to do this. We play around 25 games throughout the summer at Lakewood and Lake Tayor High School. Usually 2 nights a week and maybe a few on the weekends. Cost is umpire fees, cost of field, etc. Plan on having a meeting in May if I can get 3 more teams----I am going to coach the same guys I had last year. Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks homeplate. I will speak to my son this weekend about it. I know he will probably work a full time job this summer, but he wants to get some innings in on the mound if possible. I'll let you know.

Plan on having a meeting sometime next week. As of now I have my team-- the Drillers (those that played with me last year) and the Knights. We need 2 more teams to get a league together. This is a great league---very competitive---let's get it going!!

I played in the league last year as a rising senior out of salem high school and i dont want to see the league dissapear because we cant get someone to run it. I know of myself and at least 3 of my buddies that would definately play and im sure i could get more ballplayers in it if we could get something together

I have a lot of players that want to play--what I need is teams---Need some people that will commit to coaching and running a team--I think we can find the players---have to have someone to step up and coach

Understood homeplate. Finding good coaches always seems to be a hurdle. I'm probably not head coach caliber but would definitely assist and help as I could.

If anyone knows Joe Marjorie from the Salem area you may want to talk to him about running your league. He ran American Legion when it a real league. He's a great person and if you can talk him into it he will do a great job. You may want to get in touch with Pete Zell to get his phone number. Good luck

No, he's not a coach he's more into the administrative end of it.

I need to clarify about what we need to get this league going after the high school season ends. We need sponsors/coaches that can put a team on the field--with uniforms, balls, etc. I have had a lot of e-mails with players that are interested in playing--just need someone to sponsor and get a team together!
