Not really that I thought he didn't have it but I played with and against Tiexara. He was a top player with SP legion but I didn't imagine him being the player he is today. I also played against Matt White and look at him not making it. I believe he is doing well as the volunteer coach at Georgia Tech today but never made it after some injuries. The great players still have a lifetime to go to make it to the big league and some luck as well to put on all star careers. Mark is a great example of a player still becoming better and better each year and pushing forward. Gavin is also a player locally and he is another example of how well he has done from level to level.

How many kids do you think were discouraged from playing at say 12YO because they were skinny, fat, or couldn’t seem to walk and chew gum at the same time, then turned out to be very successful in some other sport, or at a higher level of baseball?

I’m sure that’s a scenario that’s been played out one heck of a lot over the years, and is exactly why I like to see players stay in the game as long as possible.
