Can anyone help clarify how much a varsity player can play JV and vice versa? I couldn't find anything on the IHSA web site to guide me.

Don't quote me but I don't think there are any restrictions on playing jv and varsity here in Illinois.
Couldn't find anything in here.... 
Not sure if there is any rule on this since most schools don't have JV baseball teams. When son was a sophomore he pitched varsity on Saturday and played sophomore the rest of the week so he could get his AB's in.
Hmmmm, maybe it's semantics. The NIC-10 and the smaller conferences around us have Freshman, JV, and Varsity for baseball.
I don't think there are any restrictions RockMom. Our conference (DuPage Valley) doesn't schedule a lot of JV games but when they do it's usually the non-starters on the Varsity team and maybe a soph/frosh called up to play the games. We don't have a "rostered" JV team
the rule states that players can not appear in more than 35 regular season contests at any level.
