I just wanted to remind everyone that even though school is still in, young kids are out playing and so, PLEASE BE CAREFUL. Last night on my way home from our game, I was deep in thought about the game when I noticed a kind of red blur. I don't know why but I put the brakes on real hard. (iT WAS A BALL!) THANK GOD! A little boy about 3 came running out between cars. He was so small that I didn't see him until he cleared the cars. My heart was beating real fast for probably 30 minutes afterwards. His Mom was really shaken as well. Again, PLEASE BE CAREFUL DRIVING. KIDS ARE OUT PLAYING!

In this case, I didn't have to talk to the Mom, she was there as scared as I was. She was a study in panic! Really, it happened so fast and I feel so fortunate that I hit the brakes because something seemed wrong. Again, I didn't see the boy only the blur. Strangely, I didn't hear her scream although you could tell that she was saying something. I seemed to focus on that boy and how fast my car was stopping when I realized I was so close to him. When my car stopped my heart was beating so fast and hard. The little boy didn't look afraid at all. I didn't move my car until he picked the ball up and returned to his yard where his Mom was waiting. Thank the Lord that I had help that day!
