What a great reminder.... not just for us, but for our young drivers as well. We have a couple of young kids who are always out playing ball on a corner near my house. I probably need to remind my fairly new driving daughter to pay increased attention now that the weather has warmed up. Thanks coach!

No interference with traffic. We're in a subdivision and it's very easy for a little eight year old boy to go running after that tennis ball bouncing into the street and forget about cars. We just need to be cautious as CoachB says.

In this case, I didn't have to talk to the Mom, she was there as scared as I was. She was a study in panic! Really, it happened so fast and I feel so fortunate that I hit the brakes because something seemed wrong. Again, I didn't see the boy only the blur. Strangely, I didn't hear her scream although you could tell that she was saying something. I seemed to focus on that boy and how fast my car was stopping when I realized I was so close to him. When my car stopped my heart was beating so fast and hard. The little boy didn't look afraid at all. I didn't move my car until he picked the ball up and returned to his yard where his Mom was waiting. Thank the Lord that I had help that day!
