Early this morning while coming home from the prom one of our players was in a car accident. His name is Justin Norwood a Jr RHP OF. He was seriously injured in the wreck. The passenger in the car Anna Bullock was killed in the wreck. She was a 15 year old soph and a member of the volleyball team. Anna was a sweet and loving young lady. Another one of our players was behind Justin when the wreck happened and was the first one to arrive and witnessed the death of Anna. Needless to say he is having a hard time. Please pray for Anna's parents she was their only child and the love of their lives. Please take the time to say a prayer for all our players , students and especially Justin and Anna's parents. We just won the Conference Tournement Title Friday night and we are 22-4 and ranked 5th in the state going into our state playoffs next Friday night. It was a very happy group after Fridays 1-0 win. Something like this brings everything into perspective thats for sure. Please pray that these young people will find the strength to cope and learn from this horrible situation. And please pray for Anna's parents. How in the world can any of us even think about how hard this must be for them. Thank you. Coach May

I too breathed a sigh of relief when I awoke this morning and my first thought was that our phone did not ring during the night. Last night was our prom also, and our son spent the night with a friend. I can't imagine these parents' sorrow and am praying for them. I am also praying for the seriously injured player and all involved.
We live in a small and very close community. It is a common practice for all the parents and kids attending the prom to meet at the Gazebo in downtown Butner to take pictures. The parents stand around and watch all the young girls take pictures with their friends and the boys as well. My youngest son Jeff attended the prom as well. I can still remember seeing Anna in her prom dress with Josh and Justin and several more of our players. She was so beautifull and had this huge smile on her face. Like every other parent I went home and just waited for my child to come home safe. Anna's mother and father got the call that no parent ever wants to get. They actually made it to the wreck scene and had to be restrained by the police officers. Anna's mother said "The last time I saw her was at the gazebo". This is a tough situation for our whole community. Thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers. Justin our player driving the car is going to be ok thank God. He has some broken ribs and a broken hip plus some other minor injuries. But the scar of this incident will be there the rest of his life. Please continue to pray for him and all involved. And please let your kids know about this story so they will be carefull and realize that they are not invincible and they need to be carefull. We have practice today. We have worked so hard to be a #1 seed and have a chance to do something special this season. Pray that our boys will be able to come together through this and push on with the season. And I know that they will never forget this. Neither will I.
