How much less do POs usually pay for their annual travel ball fees at the HS level?

More than they should.
In my experience, those that didn’t give a considerable discount (~30%) were showing their true colors.
CTBBALLDAD, that seems very reasonable. Thanks for the info.
Interesting how times change. After posting my initial question, I found a similar thread from 2010 in which several people responded all players should pay the same. That is definitely not the norm anymore around here.
My son did pay the same (well, we did), but while everyone knew he was being recruited as a pitcher, he got significant time at third or catcher when he didn't pitch. he played as much as any other player, which might just be our geography.
2019 played for his first team as a two way. There were three POs on the team that paid half and only showed up on days they pitched.
The second team was a high level national team. Cost was already extremely low to begin with so no PO discount but there were position players who could chuck it and never got the opportunity with 12ish POs so it worked both ways. The POs were at every game though and very much part of the team.
If the team you're considering doesn't offer a pretty big discount or isn't already cheap to begin with then don't waste your time. They're only interested in your money.
it's according to how good the PO is. The studs don't pay because the organization knows they will come in and shut down the other team. The normal PO's will pay about 75% of what the regular players pay.
75% is fairly accurate. Son went to every game but only dressed when he pitched. Usually only pitched once a tournament maybe twice if we went deep.
Thanks for all the replies, very helpful.
The teams my son has played on are 50% for a pitcher only. These are 16U and 17U teams on well known organizations (at least to scouts). Typically the pitcher will throw 3-4 innings per tournament so not much playing time in a 6-7 game tournament. Sometimes will pitch 2 innings early in the tournament and 3 innings toward the end if needed.
I think we paid about 2/3 the last time through. He was the only PO on the team and the coach was pretty good about pitching him in the first game of tournaments so we could cut out and head home. (On his HS team, of course, he went to every game even when he knew he wouldn't pitch.)
The one true "travel" tournament we went to this summer, in Los Angeles (we are near SF), was one of those Fri-Sun one game a day pool play, Monday off, playoffs Tues - Thurs. Stay to play, so you had to stay at the team hotel. The coach wouldn't guarantee he would pitch Friday or Saturday, so we passed and didn't travel with the team. We would have zipped in and out for Friday and Saturday for sure, but I wasn't going to pay travel costs, five nights (at least) lodging, five days of meals and entertainment (lots of time to kill at malls, arcades, beaches, movie theaters) for the chance he would pitch two or MAYBE three times, especially if following proper rest guidelines. He isn't an ace by any stretch of the imagination and though it was billed as a "showcase" no one was going to be looking at him. There was enough pitching depth with the other players that we weren't leaving the team in the lurch either. We have plenty of other demands for those dollars.
