Where is Tom Seaver or Pedro ?
Not crucifying--just asking

They're probably on the couch this morning eating Honey Combs and watching ESPN.
Seaver certainly belongs on list - Pedro has had a great career but is about 115 wins away from joining that group.
Where's my lefty???
SANDY KOUFAX... that guy could hummmmm it!

how could that list not include Warren Spahn?
I'll take Roger.
Were Spahn and Koufax pitching in 1980?
Only in your fantasy league richard... did you pick up a bottle of wine from the restaurant this evening?
Interesting poll, yet not the easiest to do.
For me it was down to two. One righty, the other lefty. I voted for the left handed, who dominated the game, and maybe more so than RJ.
Yet, since 1980, look who is not in the poll!
- Seaver
- Pedro
- Schilling
- Johnson
- Morris
- Perry
Based on the condition of the last 25 years, this leaves out plenty of the following HoF's including:
- Koufax
- Grove
- Ford
- Ruth
- Gibson
- Marichal
- Chesbro
- Vance
- Spahn
- Hunter
- Gomez
- Newhouser
- Chief
- Mordecai
- WJ
- Feller
- Young
- Roberts
- Radbourn
- Drysdale
- Bunning
And no doubt, missed a few too many!
lol

Hey, I hear ya! Seaver probably should have made that list - again, it was off the top of my head, just to see how people were thinking.
Why did you include Rivera, when all the others are starters? I think a very stron arguement could be made that there are also other closers as good as Rivera, like Rollie Fingers, Lee Smith, Trevor Hoffman and Dennis Eckersley. Surely, you don't think Mariano Rivera, great as he is, stands head and shoulders above these great closers, do you?
To be honest, I DO think that Rivera is the best of that bunch! They all are great closers, but I think Rivera is the one that I would want in the biggest game. I am a huge Eck fan, and the rest are all studs who deserve to be in the Hall...but the list could only include 5, so he was the 1st one that came to mind. In this day and age, NOT including a closer would probably not be a true indication of the importance of that particular type of pitcher.
