I just recently witnessed a local area Academy that had numerous talented players but a shortstop that was horrible. The parents scratched their heads wondering why this kid continually stayed in the games. It turns out that his dad was paying the coach twice the money for his kid to stay at that spot. Some of these parents later found out that other parents were paying more money for playing time. I KNOW there are a lot of legitiment coaches and teams that share costs equally but this is going too far. I think most Baseball Academies are good, but you should know what you're paying for up front. Now before people unload on me you must remember that this is my opinion from what I see in the area that I live, greater Houston Area. I am not stereotyping the whole world.
