Sooner than later, I'll probabily have one of these posts in each aerae section.

I am possibly moving to the Phoenix area with a job change. I'll be bringing: a 16 years-old, rising jr, left handed pitcher (only), currently on varsity (not much mound time due to large number of upper classmen, I wish they'd left on JV for more), 5'9", throws in upper 70s low 80s, currently struggling with breaking ball control (I think it's just the lack of mound time).

We will be looking for a good high school program, with good coaches that teach the game. WIns and losses are nice, but I like a coach that can help a kid improve.

He will also be looking for a place to play this summer/fall. He normally plays with the school's summer program and while cash could be tight initailly, a travel team isn't out of the question.

Also, what are normal traffic conditions/ commute time in the Phoenix area? Coming from Atlanta, it can't be as bad. Looking for a good, quiet, family place to live,. Any recommendations?

You have lots of choices, most of them good. A lot depends of your job location. The strongest programs include Chaparral, Horizon, Hamilton, Brophy (private), Deer Valley, Desert Mountain, etc... A good choice for an up and coming program with good coaches and lots of opportunity is Saguaro (Ryan Dyer and Joe Muecke), which is a 4A (second largest classification, 1900 enrollment) school in Scottsdale. Other good opportunities can be found across the Valley. If you can provide additional specifics, I am sure I can offer additional information. Respond here, or send me a PM if you wish. As far as the commute, there can be some rough spots, but for the most part it is manageable. Nothing compared to Atlanta.
