My son visited there couple of years ago and went in another direction. They tended toward big guys who could hit for power. They had little or no speed, were so-so on defense and their pitching was OK for where they were, but not enough to do damage at the national level.

Smallish campus seemed nice. Dorms were worn, but we'd seen worse.
First a rant...

"CV ....THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS UNIVERSITY OF WEST VIRGINIA" I thought I taught you better Wink

Now then.. I feel better..

Potomac State is now a division of West Virginia University with the diploma you receive carrying the WVU seal. Many classes are now taught by WVU professors who divide their time between the two campuses.

Athletically, they plan to build towards a DII division rating in the next 3-4 years. Coach Little is an outstanding baseball coach and their records the past few years show that. The players are watched closely by both WVU and Marshall with many players moving into these D1 programs after their first 2 years.

Several former Potomac State/WVU players have gone on to be drafted the past several years. Several players from the last two years WVU team came after attending Potomac State and all had nothing but great things to say about Coach Little and his staff.

I have personally had the opportunity to speak with Coach Little several times and have always been impressed by him and his integrity.
I have two family friends with sons that pitched at Potomac State, then transferred after two years. The players and the parents were all very well-pleased with the program. If anyone wants to contact these folks, send me a PM and I'll put you in touch with the parents. One player has now graduated and the other will pitch at a D-2 this spring.
