Powhatan vs Glen Allen at UR 12:30pm

Meanwhile, Hanover at Grafton might turn into a snorkeling competition.  I wish they'd move that game up here!  Somebody with some contacts to Grafton should tell them that actually playing is more important than "home field advantage" at a rain out.

See you at UR in a bit.

Reminds me of when my son's HS had to play Grafton for the Regional Championship in 2012.  Forecast had 90% chance of thunderstorms for that day.  Did they reschedule?  Nope.  About 15 minute before game time the skies opened up and deluged the field.  Note - Grafton's field does not have lights so staying later was not an option.  Ended up having to travel there the next day to finally play the game.

I do remember York HS (just down the road from Grafton) had lights and was an alternate site to play from what some of the locals told us.

Glenn Allen over Powhatan 8-2.  Powhatan gave up 3 in the first, closed it to a 3-2 game before GA pulled away midway through and slammed the door.

My takeaway from the game was that both SS were players to take note of and go see if you can.  Brad Painter (a Frosh) and Connor Dopp (Soph) were stellar defensively.  Very good looking ballplayers with bright futures.

Clover Hill finished the upset over Deep Run.

Freeman capitalized on some Manchester miscues to comeback from a 1-0 deficit early to win 3-1.

Over at Cosby HS the guests jumped up 3-0 early and never looked back as Western Branch took down Cosby.  I believe the final was 8-2 but I am not positive of the final tally.
