AJ and Katie will head out from Tucson later this morning ... car packed with lots of personal belongings ... pup in the backseat ... taking I-10 eastbound to Mobile, Alabama to start another adventurous season in AA baseball. He will be a relief pitcher for the Mobile Bay Bears to start the season, tho we don't know if he will stay in the pen the whole season or move back into a starting role. Only the Dbacks and the Lord know for sure what will happen.

Would appreciate prayers for travel mercies for the kids as the weather ahead of them is pretty bad. It appears that the storm front is finally moving eastward and hopefully they will follow it with a good 1000 miles or so between them and the storm front. But, I wouldn't be a mom if I didn't worry, (even tho they are 24 years old ... )

Could also use some of my own prayers as it will be a while before we see them. Hope to get back there in May and perhaps another time later in the summer, but having that much distance between us is always very hard cry

Thanks for the prayer support, Girlfriends. I know that when women pray, especially in a group, the prayers are very powerful.

Mary Ann, You know you can count on prayers from the bluegrass! I enjoy so much hearing about AJ and his life in the minors, but I equally enjoy hearing about his young married life as he takes on that journey too. Katie seems like such a wonderful young wife and I wish many blessings for them... on the field and otherwise.

Safe travels AJ and Katie!
play baseball ...

AJ, as well as 2 other teammates and one of the coaching staff got pulled over in a 65 mph zone. AJ and the coach got warnings but I don't know what happened to the other two. Actually, the coach got stopped first and tried to call AJ to warn him about the sheriff, ended up calling our home number instead, and never was able to get to AJ before he was stopped.

Apparently the sheriff was feeling generous ... and I am glad because those tickets are NOT tax deductible. But the really funny part of the story ... the officer saw all the personal and household items in AJ's car and asked if they were moving (hmmm, let's see, Cali plates, personal belongings filling up the back of the car, and headed to Mobile ... hmmm, sheriff, here's your sign). When AJ affirmed it and told him they were headed to Mobile, the sheriff asked why. After AJ told him it was for baseball, the officer chuckled and said "I think I just pulled over one of your coaches."

But we just got off the phone with them. They are safe and sound in Mobile, driving around town trying to find the apartment complex they are going to move into this week (along with another couple, possibly two), then they will head for the hotel which the Dbacks' pay for (for NO LONGER than 3 nights after which you had better have a place to live or a rich uncle who just bequeathed you a large amount of cash). Their first game is Thursday (don't know if our guy will come into the game or not) but since the field is named after the HOF'r Hank Aaron, he will actually be throwing out the first pitch. AJ is going to try and get him to autograph a ball for Marv. That will be great ... we can put it on the wall with the one we have from Brooks Robinson, Trevor Hoffman, Tommy LaSorda, and Sparky Anderson. May even have to get a special box for it ...

Thanks again for the prayers. It worked. They only hit rain for a little while east of Houston but then Houston can be much like the northwest with its rain (spent many weeks there years ago for work, and I remember having to work in the rain UGH).
