Hey all,

I'm up here playing in the Alaskan Baseball League with Athletes in Action. Might I add that it's amazing in Alaska!!! My last start against the Pilots after a bunt my third baseman from Auburn threw a ball from about 5 feet in the back of my head. He throws it 90mph or so, so it didn't feel that great. I have a concussion right now, and I just ask for prayers for a speedy recover. I have been having a good summer so far, and I just want to continue to pitch ASAP.

Hey all,

Thank you very much for all your prayers. I know that they have helped a ton. It's been a little over a week now, and I'm doing pretty well. I'm throwing again and will throw my first bull pen today. I doubt I will get my starting rotation spot back, but I'll get some innings in relief.

The baseball up here is awesome. I couldn't ask for a better way to spend my summer.

Tallman,

Good to hear things are getting back to normal. I've told this story once before. I was coaching a 13-14 year old team. There was a runner on first and third. Our catcher had a ball go past him. The home plate umpire stepped aside and the catcher went around him to pick up the ball. The umpire thought he was going to toss the ball to our pitcher coming in cover home but my catcher must have forgot about the runner on third. Instead he picked up the ball and fired it towards second base. The ball got four feet out of his hand and clocked the umpire in the back of the head and knocked him out. He went face first onto home plate and the runner on third who was stealing home slid into his head.
