CERTAIN MLB CLUBS WILL MAKE A DEAL OR STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT IF THEY TAKE A PLAYER, SOMETIMES HIGHER THAN PROJECTED, WILL THEY SIGN FOR X AMOUNT OF DOLLARS. MY DEALINGS HERE IN FLORIDA HAVE BEEN WITH CLUBS THAT WILL TELL YOU THEY DONT HAVE AS MUCH MONEY AS OTHERS, KEY PART TO THIS IS THEY WANT A PLAYER TO SIGN, NOT TALK ABOUT IT BUT BASICALLY SAY IF YOU TAKE ME, NO MATTER WHERE IN DRAFT, I WILL SIGN WITH YOU FOR THIS AMOUNT. YES IT DOES HAPPEN AND SOMETIMES CAN EXPLAIN WHY A CERTAIN PLAYER GOES HIGHER THAN PROJECTED, THREE DAYS LATER IS PLAYING PRO BASEBALL. MANY PARTS OF CONTRACT CAN ALSO BE NEG WITH SCOUT, MY FAVORITE LINE A FEW YEARS AGO WAS, MY BOSS SAYS WE CAN ONLY SPEND 2 MILLION DOLLARS THIS YEAR ON ENTIRE DRAFT THUS WE CAN ONLY OFFER YOU $100,000 IF YOU TELL ME YOU WILL SIGN FOR THAT AMOUNT WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO DRAFT YOU. PM ME IF YOU NEED MORE INFO. HAVE HAD 2 1ST ROUNDERS, A SECOND AND A 3RD.
Coachee:

Senerio...son was asked what it would take for him not to go to Div1 powerhouse and sign, son said he was unsure, scout threw some numbers around asking would you go for this, would you go for that, number became higher each time, haven't heard from scout since but wondering if the scout thought the number was too high would they consider son unsignable or if they do draft him wouldn't that be considered a wasted pick? Thanks.
