I got to go with Gators living in FL, but I do NOT think it will be a blowout, but pretty close.

Anyone want to comment on this, I heard a discussion today about the BCS and about how teams are chosen for bowl attendance as well as performance matchup. The income from this weekend is supposed to bring about 3 million dollars to this area, and the place is crawling loads of Oklahoma fans who travel well. Of course Florida has teh fan advantage.
Would a game against Oklahoma or Florida be as exciting if Utah had played either one? Do Utah fans travel well. Seems to me the guys in discussion said no way. College football is about $$$$$$$$ and more $$$$$$. Opinions?

I'm going with Florida by 10 in a 34 - 24 score.

TPM - good question. I'm going to say if it was Utah there would be a small decrease in the numbers but nothing that significant. I don't see how Utah wouldn't travel well. They had a strong showing in Louisiana and really once you compare it to where Utah is going to Florida isn't that much more of a trip. Since they had such a good turnout in LA I think playing in the NC game would get even more people out to the game.

The reason I think there would be a decrease in attendance is that Utah doesn't have the same enrollment as Florida. I may be completely wrong on that and Utah has a bigger enrollment than I am thinking but I would be really surprised it they were closer. Smaller enrollment means smaller number of current students, alumni and overall fans as compared to a larger Florida.

Then again I could be completely wrong because I am just spouting off the top of my head.

True but at the same time popularity and dollars travel the same road so more often than not it cannot be defined as ONLY about the money.

The poor Utes may be a fan favorite but as some discussions in other threads touched on they do not the project the image of Champions. --- Winners? Yes --- Lucky? Yes --- Champions? NO!
While the Utah program doesn't have the history or size of the Oklanhome fan base, there is excellent support for the team and lots of money there to get here. Utah would travel well but the Oklahoma program is going to travel as well as anyone, imo. The gas and oil bidness is pretty good right now.
Well I got the 10 points right but I still would have lost on The Price Is Right because I went over.

Watching Florida hoist the "National Championship" trophy over their heads got me thinking......if Utah does get the AP vote and there is a split national championship does Utah get a really big shiny trophy like Florida?

If Florida wins (and they will):

1) Florida
2) Utah
3) USC
4) Texas
5) Oklahoma

I see a close game in the 21-17 range before Florida puts 10-14 points on Oklahoma in the 4th quarter.

-------------------------------------------------

I was just a little high on my end of 3rd period score. I won two bets. 1) Florida would win by at least 7. 2) Oklahoma wouldn't score more than 21 points.

Most announcers are bad and every major sporting event is over hyped. If I am going to watch a game I never turn the TV on until actual game time. How many times can 20 different people say the same things.

IMO, college football and basketball are over exposed which probably adds to the attitudes of athletes mentioned in another thread.

I can't remember the last time I watched a pregame show. When I was a kid watching the pregame with Frank Gifford was how we got last weeks highlights. Then came MNF and "he-could-go-all-the-way" (not Berman for you youngsters). Then came ESPN. Then came the internet. Opionions and highlights on demand.
