We are a Nokona glove family.  They are affordable, last long, and my sons like their feel, plus they are made in the good old USA.  http://www.nokona.com/.   Use their glove finder tool to determine specifically what you are looking for.

In addition to brand, I think a big part of buying a glove is determining whether you want the pre-broken in/quick broken in gloves or the gloves that take a lot longer to break in.   Typically the gloves that take longer to break in last longer.  All major brands offer both types of gloves.

Good luck!

My oldest prefers Rawlings, he uses the Pro-Preferred model, but I think the Elite model will hold up well and not cost as much, Nakona's are great too.  Go to a store that carries some high end gloves and try a bunch on, it all comes down to personal feel and comfort...then check for that model on E-bay.......I buy all my gloves there , with a little patience you get some extremely amazing deal

I also love the NOKONA products and my son is a Rawlings Pro Preferred Fan, but to be honest those can be very high dollar gloves....

To address your question as to a good glove for less money..........now is the time to buy, lots of good online retailers are having sales to reduce stock, local sports stores need to clear out stock.....so some searching and online scouring can be a good hit...

I still get all the catalogs from the top online retailers and have seen Mizuno, wilson, TPX, rawlings all on sale....and they still have good leather gloves in the lower cost targets....

If properly cared for a glove will last a long time...
