3 Teams from Indiana
6 Teams from Missouri
0 Teams from Oklahoma
1 Team from Arizona

This data according to the tournament website shows the field to be a little heavy on the Texas teams for a 'National Championship' dont you think? Eek

Good to see 8-5A boys doing well. From Perfect Game website:

Blake Parker (Plano West H.S.) hit a two-run, pinch-hit homer in the seventh inning, lifting the DBAT Mustangs-Bacsik to a 13-11 victory over the Houston Raiders Grey. Nic Watkins (Mineola H.S) and Taylor Black (Allen H.S.) also homered for the Mustangs.

Dillon,

Not sure why the surly attitude towards the heavy Texas turnout. All the teams in the Premier league have the opportunity/option to attend their National Championship.

As someone from Texas, why are you dogging the teams that chose to attend?

C,

No "attitude" toward this tournament, or any tournament for that matter. I was just taken back when viewing this tournament's field of teams, as it was extremely heavy on the Texas side. My second post on this topic was in direct response to PWBaseball's comment on my initial post after viewing the tournament field,as he/she was stating that there actually were teams from other states besides Texas.

I wasn't 'dogging' any team for attending, nor would I. It was simply just surprising to see this many Texas teams attend a 'National Championship' in Missouri. Any idea as to why Premier was not well represented from other parts of the country (Sorry if I'm naive on the Premier side of things)?

I apologize if the post(s) came off as negatively as it was taken. Again, it was very surprising to view the teams in an event called a National Championship with 85% or so of the teams from Texas, especially when taking place in another part of the country.
From what I can recall, Texas teams were primarily the ones who got together and formed Premier. In the beginning, there were maybe just 3-4 teams from outside Texas. Since then, teams from other states have joined Premier and it is slowly becoming more "national," although top East Coast and West Coast teams are still doing their own thing. The fact that Perfect Game is now scouting the Joplin event signifies Premier's growing importance.

I'm curious to hear what schools were at this year's event. Two years ago, I remember TCU, DBU, Univ. of Memphis, Rollins College, K-State, Army, Navy, UTSA, New Mexico, Missouri State, New Mexico State, and the Univ. of Houston being at some of the games, and there were other schools as well that we couldn't identify. Can anyone who was there this year recite some names off the top of your head?
