My 2016 went to an showcase last year(freshman) has had a well known big D1 school getting to know him since.Of coarse he did well enough that he was noticed.I am sure that helps.I can't afford the 599.99 events. In our case the 260.00 for him to be a two way player was woth it.Its cheaper than that for a single position player.Would go again. In fact we are going back at end of july by indy.

Showcases, not so many.
Invitation Only events, especially with Pitchers, more
PBR Tournaments, likely more.

Did attending these events truly help our son get recruited... the verdict is out on that one. But, probably not.
PBR Scouts tend to follow their own team players more, and those in the Chicago area. College Scouts attend area Showcases, but niot alot of them.

As absurd as it sounds, I know that Highlight Video created by a friend and College Scout/ Recruiter, sent out to Head Coaches and Pitching Coaches, along with Colleges making a few phone calls, is what got our son recruited. He had an injury his HS Senior season. Had TJ surgery following graduation. And still had Colleges willing to take the chance on him.

If a player is wanting to play more local in College, PBR may help.

If a player wants a broader search radius in his college search, or to possibly get drafted....PG / Perfect Game is the way to go.

And an elite Travel Team, not Legion Ball, which is becoming the equivalent of Town Ball / Little League.

Each PBR state has different directors....and some have been around longer than others.  Here in Ohio PBR does a very nice job...and it seems like Indiana does too.  Can't speak for the others.  Events are usually fairly well attended...but their big events...Midwest Futures Games, Top Prospect Games, etc get a lot of big name schools.  Kids who went to last year's MFG are going to D1's all over...who saw them at the MFG

Thanks,

His invite was for a Top Prospects Invitation only event, Director does a good job promoting good local kids and has written up son a few times.

Appreciate the input.

Good luck to your 2015 Buckeye.

Thank you Shelby, good point, you never know who is watching at what game/event so unless the scout tells you where he saw your son it is difficult to pinpoint the value of certain events.
