Now I know who prepsters son is. I was at the game Friday night. He did a terrific job coming in relief. Congrats Prepster.

For inspiration, he need only look as far as the lockers around him. As a pitching staff, they've posted a 1.96 E.R.A. so far and are holding opponents to a .205 batting average. Success is contagious and inspires all of them to do well.
Also,for the benefit of any pitchers who aspire to play past high school: Recognize that successful relief pitching is often the difference between winning and losing. My son finds himself in a "swing" position, throwing long, middle relief when needed on Friday or Saturday and starting on Sunday when not needed on Friday or Saturday. He would tell you that what he does on Friday or Saturday is every bit as much a contribution as what he might be asked to do if he starts on Sunday. The key is to prepare yourself to do well, regardless of the role you're asked to perform...and the rest will take care of itself.
