new trier I would agree with lyons seems to be a stretch.
LT did win the summer state title. I gotta believe they deserve the #1 ranking in Illinois to start the season since they won the summer tournament.
I have to disagree as people put way too much importance on the summer tournament and many high school teams don't even go with many of their top players due to other committments. Take a look at the article and you will notice they didn't mention something about lt and that is pitching. On the other hand I think nt is loaded with pitchers.

yeah but its a long season and you never know what can happen. The rankings dont mean anything until the end of the season
Seeing those rankings makes me feel not so bad about the regional finals last year.
