They must have had a Prior arrangement.

Our family will always be a fan. I hope it works out well.
Nice to see all of his hard work resulting in another chance - would have been so easy to quit...
Prior has been working with Coach House at his pitching facility at USC.Has worked hard.Very happy to see that he is getting his chance.Coach House is a great pitching coach, and a great guy.
I truly wish Prior could make it back to the Show, since its obvious he truly has a love for the game. He made a decent amount of money in his short time in the Majors, so its got to be that he just wants to play the game. Maybe things will break right for him this time.

My son attended the USC College Camp last December. Coach House worked a bullpen with Prior during some down time, and allowed the kids to watch. It was very interesting, and Prior didn't mind Coach House using him as a teaching example. I wish Mark Prior the best, it would be great to see him back up in the Bigs! Also, I agree...Tom House is a very nice guy. Besides watching the kids play in Live game situations during camp, I thoroughly enjoyed the breakout sessions that Coach House conducted with the kids. It was very informative and not just in baseball, but in life. I wish I'd recorded it, because I know it went in one ear and out the other in my teenager!
This is a great thread to see! By all accounts, Mark Prior is a good guy, a big talent, and an extremely hard worker. We hope he makes it all the way back.
SP_son and I both guessed that if/when he came back that it might well be with the Rangers, as Nolan Ryan and Tom House have been very close since their days together in Texas.
SP_son was also out for an RDRBI Camp at USC in January. We are big fans of Coach House, and he has done a great deal for my son. The boys were throwing in the "Mark Prior Bullpen" at USC, and Coach House told them a little bit about the 4-6 month journey Prior had been on up to that point.
We were told he had to train for months before he was even allowed to play catch. According to one of the strength coaches we met, Prior's work ethic and commitment are so great that he goes through 2 to 3 training partners a day, just wearing guys out.
We heard that the week we were out there Prior had thrown one of his first full bullpens alongside a current MLB star who had also come out for some help. It is great to see he has found his way back on the field.
