Lathrop had a lot of innings last year for the Hickory Varsity as a sophomore. He was 3-0. Even though he hits his spots well he still needs to increase his velocity (low 80s). Coach Lavelle should be able to help his velocity. Whether he becomes the third starter or not remains to be seen.
Coach Agreste is a friend of mine and definitely worthy of the compliments he's received on this thread.

Atlantic Shores has a LHP named Jordan Sargent. I think he's a sophomore now. A special player and a great kid - definitely a kid to watch.

Redbird hit the nail on the head concerning arm speed. Most people talk about mechanics which are important (especially glove-side which many instructors neglect), but rarely do you hear anyone discussing arm speed, which is the single most important factor when it comes to velocity. Roy Halladay is a good example.
Shores got Cody Queen-MIF from GCA. He has had a great fall season. Jordan Sargent-LHP was hitting low 90s over the summer with the Drillers. Returning are Trent Ehret, Christian Aydlette, Tim Agreste, Gabe Sigmon, Blake Miller....most of last years team. The only question will be Zack Mayers....he hurt his knee again at a showcase in NC.

They also got Luke Brunot from GCA.

Don't over look Portsmouth Christian, with transfer Leland Clemmons, returning Josh Dodge visaa first team all state last year, and a kid who pitched for them in the fall, last name is Sutton, mid to low 80's fastball. Won't be a walk in the park for anyone.

The low 90's was the report from East Cobb....

Not according to PG:
Jordan Sergent (2013 LHP, Atlantic Shores H.S. Chesapeake, VA.) pitched the Tidewater Drillers to a 2-0 victory over the On Deck O's Black this morning at the East Cobb Complex. Sergent uses a 3/4 release point, spots his fastball and uses the corners to his advantage. Sergent's fastball was consistently sitting 79-81 topping out at 82MPH.

This is more in line with what I have seen.
