I have a question about private topics. I have only just started to use this function so I am not familiar with all the rules.

Are they really private? I sent a private topic to a user and within 2 minutes the topic had been viewed multiple times. A few more viewings then I would think a person would normally view before responding. Is this normal? am I paranoid?

Last report on this question seemed to point to how the site's "view counter" function might be working or not working. Confused No one, however, seems to be able to track when or why it increments the number, but abuse didn't seem to be the issue. noidea BUT, like CDTLB said, nothing is really private on the internet. Any sensitive information should really be done thru safer e-mail or direct contact means.

BigHit,
I agree with the viewing when email is considered. What I don't agree with is that the Florida Bombers are the "best Florida Team". If you use that in your signature you must have a reason. But do know that last year and the year before they lost to the Pokers in the end!
See you at the games!
As one who was a part of the "highly scientific" PM'S test....the results were that it has to do with the email function.

If you each view the topic directly from the site, it's fine. One view apiece. But, if you access your email and respond back and forth that way, the views jump.

I left a few topics up "just to see" and the views never changed.

"There was only one shooter", in other words, there is no conspiracy.

Case closed. manrunning
