Private Topics?

Nothing is completely private on message boards, email, chat. Never write anything you can't read publicly. IMO

This has been discussed before and the moderators of this board swear they're not being viewed by them or others. I think a couple of users were doing some covert investigations to figure out why it shows up like that.

Last report on this question seemed to point to how the site's "view counter" function might be working or not working. No one, however, seems to be able to track when or why it increments the number, but abuse didn't seem to be the issue. BUT, like CDTLB said, nothing is really private on the internet. Any sensitive information should really be done thru safer e-mail or direct contact means.

One thing that I have been able to ascertain is that if you use the e-mail notification function, that counts as a view. So 1 view for you viewing and 1 for the e-mail to you.

I agree with the viewing when email is considered. What I don't agree with is that the Florida Bombers are the "best Florida Team". If you use that in your signature you must have a reason. But do know that last year and the year before they lost to the Pokers in the end!

The Pokers are a fine organization. I believe them and the Bombers to be the 2 best in Florida. of that there is little doubt.

dadchs24 - a Private Message(PM) is found by clicking on the green "My Space" tab at the top of the page. Then click on the "Private Topics" link in the drop-down box.

As one who was a part of the "highly scientific" PM'S test....the results were that it has to do with the email function.

If you each view the topic directly from the site, it's fine. One view apiece. But, if you access your email and respond back and forth that way, the views jump.

I left a few topics up "just to see" and the views never changed.

"There was only one shooter", in other words, there is no conspiracy.

Case closed.
