Private's game of the week?

The game of the week happens today when Kellam and First Colonial meet. The loser will have two losses in the district and both still have to play Princess Anne again.

What was GCA's record last year? Did they graduate many players? How did they do in their state playoffs?

Just a short one to OBSERVER- the title of this thread is "Private's game of the week?" meaning private schools, not public schools.

we faced pete in the hampton roads invitionial.he didn't have good control that day.he needs it against gca.

actually, the Pro scout that was there that day was impressed with Pete's stuff. As I remember it was more a matter of spotty defense than control. Didn't he also hit the scoreboard that day?

GCA plates 6 in bottom of 1st and cruises to a 10-1 victory.

True on the errors. I felt bad for the pitcher. He really threw well..got hit pretty hard in the first, but should have been out before all the runs scored. Credit the Cape Henry kids for getting it together after that and playing a good game.

There is no question that the Greenbrier team is loaded with talent and extremely well coached. I am sure that every kid on that team is there because they love baseball, have been playing the game for a long time, and have aspirations of taking it to the next level and beyond!
The fact is, the Cape Henry Pitcher should have been out of the 1st inning with only 1 or 2 runs scored. Then it might have been a game.

yep he did hit the scoreboard.but i was talking pitching.i think he did have alot of control problems and he gaveup alot of hits.

Cape Henry is a great team, but bottom line GCA hit him hard. Errors happen, trust me i know, and runs will score, but they didn't score 110 runs in the first innings and im guessing whoever was pitching for GCA (hewett, bullmen, etc.) had good controll and dominated the game. Levitt or Moray will get another shot at the gators though and i bet they will be ready.
