Hey, I am a 15 Sophmore on JV and i have a problem. During the first couple scrimages we had i was batting what i should be (0-5) so he moved me from the 2 spot. I understand that. But now i got my average above .400 in 14 games. And now i bat 8th. The kid he had in the three spot for the first 9 games batted .176 and STAYED there ( he finally moved him down). Two days ago i was batting ninth and i went 4-5 with three doubles and a triple. I come today expecting to me batting at least 6th. Nope 8th. We have a End of the year meeting with him at the end of our season and i was wondering what i could say withour being rude. I was thinking:

"I am not trying to be rude, but did u think battin .400 was not good enough to be batting below 8th?"

One more thing. I am supposed to start on monday. Today after the game he said,"Chris you got the start on monday. Well be facing a good team so be ready. (Turns to the Team) We will be facing thier number 1 guy tomorrow cuz most teams pitch thier number one on mondays. That really didn't work out for us this week but it's ok."

you should approach him and ask what you can do to make it to the spot you wanna hit at, which sounds pretty high. dont sound snobby or anything just listen to him. and if you dont feel like what he said was appropriate about the start on monday just tell him what you think and maybe you two can get along well. just dont tell other players what you think because it might then leak to the coach which would be bad for you.
Something like that happened to me my freshman year of high school. My freshman year was the first year that we were required to use a -3 bat and I was used to a -5 and had not been able to train with a -3 that fall due to an injury. I think I was batting under .200 through the first 10 or so varsity games. My coach moved me to the 9 hole from the 5 hole. While I was in the 9 spot my average jumped to around .340 after about 12-15 games. My coach came to me and spoke with me about moving back up in the order and why I was staying in the 9 hole as long as I was. He explained that by being in the 9 hole I was seeing many more fastballs than I would in the 5 spot, and no pitcher wants to put a man on with a walk just before the top of the lineup rolls around. When I moved up into the 3 spot I hit well, but not as well as I did in the 9 spot.
The point of my ramblings is not to complain about where in the lineup you are hitting, especially if you are successful where you are. Hitting in the 9 spot and getting your hitting going have more in common than you might think...
Parent here but Im gonna chime in:
Forget it, let the coach worry about the lineup.
I understand why you'd like to be hitting higher in the lineup, and you may be right. But the lineup is not your job.

You're job is to help your team win, be productive, have good at bats and advance runners. You can do that no matter where your hitting. If you do that you dont need to to be hitting 1-5 to hold your head high.

the demands of hitting in the 1-2-3 spot are increased compared the 8 and 9 slot- maybe your coach wants you to see more strikes- which 8 and 9 hitters get . 1 2 3 4 hitters are often not given any good pitches to hit and must be incredibly patient as they move up the ladder- varsity -then college- good luck and help your team by ripping some dead red fastballs in the 8 slot
