Does anyone know of a good gluten free protein drink? My son has celiac disease and type-1 diabetes and we are trying to find a protein drink that tastes good. Unfortunately a lot of gluten free products don't taste very good. We'd also like it to be low carb, if possible, because of the diabetes.

Hi,

I noticed no one has given you any ideas. Most of the protein powders wehave used have a warning about diabetics not using it.You should call some of the companies and ask to speak to a person that knows their products.Optimal nutrition is agood company.I have called companies before and asked them specifics.I am sure there is something out there..
Most doctors unfortunately know very little about supplements.I had a question about Muscle Milk at one time and they have product specialists that are trained to answer questions.

Now being that the original posters son is a diabetic, any nutritional supplement needs to be safe .

The origianl poster having a diabetic son, knows exactly what his meal plans are, and what his intake should be with each food group.

If the parent is not aware of what affects the blood sugars in these products, then they should check with a certified nutritionist.
I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to bring it back alive. I didn't realize until yesterday (I ran out and had to buy more) that the protein I drink is gluten free.

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Designer Whey! Their stuff is great. I have taken a lot of different ones and this has been my favorite for many years.

I like chocolate and strawberry, so give those a try. Designer whey is sold at Kroger, GNC, and you can buy it online.

Good luck!
