public to private transfer rules/ethics

Players have to sit a year and play JV if they transfer after their Sophomore year starts in the Washington league. I am not sure about the MIAA.

Also once a kid starts at a high school then a coach can no longer start the conversation. I think most coaches would not try to steal a player but that being said I also think no coach is going to turn down a talented ballplayer that wants to come to him.

There are a lot of factors that have to do with transfers. Yes coaches but also other parents, players and summer coaches and friends can encourage a team to come to a certain school.

Same reasons why someone might want to go to a public instead a private school.

I think the WCAC has a rule that non-freshmen (unless they just moved to the area) can't play varsity.

Correct have to play JV but there were exception to that rule made for special situation. i.e. Paul VI had two transfers from Notre Dame that allow to play varsity last year.

Carroll had a girls basketball player that was allowed to play non league games at the varsity level.

Must be an exception for Morris. Can't imagine him coming to DeMatha to play JV and he's clearly coming off a varsity season at south river

Morris is playing JV!

I heard that the intention was to pitch him in the non-conference games. If that is the case, that is a new dimension to the transfer rule.
