Anyone had their son's glove repaired?
Hoping to find a good location in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Need to repair the webbing on his 1st basemen's mitt very soon.

Is it in need of leather repair or lacing?
Just need to tighten up the web. Ball is passing thru the webbing (dual leather straps running vertically and horizontally) Tried self repair by pulling out the leather lacing knotted on the thumb but it's not producing enough improvement.
Kelly Sports in Southlake does a good job...son has had a couple of gloves relaced there over the years...they do it fairly quickly (couple of days) but it's not cheap (around $70 for a complete relace).
The "Glove Doctor" Lance Phillips does them. I think he charges $25-$35 for a complete relace. 214-293-7693
most shoe repair places can do this also
Depending on what side of town you're on, Kim at Mesquite Sports is very good, quick, and cheap. He's done several gloves, including a full re-lace of catcher's mitt, and I've always been very pleased.

I agree... I met Lance way back when I was still playing some senior league ball. He got my old college infielder's glove back in shape...and it was a tough job for anyone to tackle. That thing had been stowed away for 10yrs with several rips in the leather. he's really good!
