My advice would be to call the coach and talk to him. Most camps are set up as a business for the coaches. The NCAA does not allow coaches to run free camps, but fees for camps vary widely.
They do find some recruits there, but IMO there is more emphasis on monetary gain than recruiting. Just remember, that if your son is not yet a senior, the coach is not allowed to call you back, he can only talk with you if you reach him while he's there.
My advice would be to do your homework on the school first and find out if it is really a place your son wants to play. You will probably get dozens of camp invites, get informed and be selective.
