Well,I'm always learning about the process as each day goes by,so heres the question:

Say I go to a showcase, and I perform well. How will I know if a scout "noticed" me or "recommends" me to someone. Will someone contact me,or what would happen thereafter?

I realize this isn't the showcase or pro forum, but this seems to be visited by more posters.

thanks in advance!

You won't know until someone approaches you at a later date.

If they are interested in drafting you, then they will want to know if you will sign if they draft you.

You will generally only be approached if someone is fairly interested in you.

When they approach you, they want to...

1. Get a sense of your make-up. How you interact with others. How you think. How you approach the game.

2. Get a sense of your signability. Whether you will sign if they draft you.

There's no point in talking to a guy if you aren't thinking about drafting him.

A few nights before the draft son got a call from a scout who never once talked to him. The only contact was that he once came up to husband and introduced himself.
I know people who got drafted by organizations who never once spoke to the area scout.
Also, the scout may come back several times to watch before he makes contact.
All scouts, I am too assume, work differently. Some are very chatty, some just have too many players to see in an area and go about their business and conduct themselves in a professional manner.
Im talking about college

I talked to a former teammate of mine(now a JUCO player)about his experience with the process last night

He said he went to 2 Showcases, both local(goes to show you don't need to shell out $500 to get noticed)and performed fairly well. After a tournament,he said a man approached him after a game in which he pitched a 2 hit shutout, and said I represent ------- school and I'm looking to make you ------- offer on the schools behalf

Interesting how different it is
