Where do you recruit the guys who your evaluations?

I ask because a local guy I know is going around telling everyone he is working for one the top showcases in the country (I'll leave off the name as many people here have sent their kids to these showcases).

I'm just curious because this guy is a nobody. He talks a good game, but is basically a glorified Little League coach and an assistant at that.

I'm just curious how guys get hired and what type of criteria is used.

Thanks.

I cannot speak for others but I can tell you how we do it

01-- our coaches on the field are baseball people that I know and respect-- HS coaches, Youth League Coaches etc--they are part of the evaluation

02-- I spend time talking with the college coaches and scouts in attendance , picking their brain, as it were

03- I personally watch the players during the course of the three days we are on the field

When the event is finished I am able to compile three sets of notes--coaches on the field, info from the scouts and my own personal notes--thus coming up with what we feel is a pretty solid evaluation.

I hope that this helps you
PFBear,

It could very well be Perfect Game you are speaking of. We often hear about people claiming they work for us when they don't.

We do have well over 100 people (scouts, instructors, coaches, etc.) who work for us all over the country. Most of these are well known outstanding baseball people who keep a low profile. However there must be twice that many who claim to work with us. We've had people claim to work for us that we don't even know. Often MLB Clubs have the same problem with people claiming to be scouts.

If anyone really wants to know if someone claiming to represent us is for real, please call or email us.
