Was wondering if you are allowed to throw a bullpen for d2 schools. Being recruited by a few d3 schools and my top school I would like to attend is a d2. Was going to send a video from a while back but feel I have improved my mechanics and velocity from that. Was wondering if I could get any advice or info on how I should go about this. Thanks

I think you ask good questions.

If it were me, I would hike on down to the local sports facility and make a new video showing the new mechanics. Would upload the video to youtube. Would e-mail the youtube link (and short e-mail bio e.g., I am 6-2, 180 lbs, and throw 86 mph) to all coaches of interest. Would follow-up with the coaches and ask them what they think.
The applicable rules are in Bylaw 13.11.2 and 13.11.3, D2 only. NCAA Div 2 Manual
In summary, a single tryout is permitted for a high school senior during his fall term, a JC player after the season or his 2 year eligibility has been exhausted, and 4 year college players if permission to contact has been granted.
The player needs to have had a medical exam within the last 6 months.

Any violation affects the college and does not affect the player's eligibility. So you don't need to worry about breaking any rule-- the responsibility lies with the college.
According the NCAA bylaws, the NCAA certifies each amatuer student athlete at the D1 & 2 level. But, it's my understanding that even though you must have certified amateur status to play NCAA sports, it applies to the same sport. I know there are some who play a different sport and still have amatuer status, like a former MiLB player goes to college and plays football.

Tha NAIA allows former professional players to remain eligible.

Last year my son's DII had a former professional Baseball player. He had been drafted out of high school in Canada by the Milwaukee Brewers and apparently played parts of two years in pro ball. He was ineligible for his first year at the school but was attending. Last year he started at DH. The biography states that "due to NCAA rule changes he loses two years eligibility after playing two years of pro ball out of high school." I believe the fact that he was Canadian may have had something to do with him being able to play DII after pro ball but I'm not sure.
