My 2010 son has begun receiving letters/questionaires from college coaches and I have a question regarding who to have fill out the coach's section. I am assuming they are talking about his high school coach, and that is fine with us, however his travel team coach is actually more knowlegeable regarding baseball specifics. We have new head baseball coach (5A school)who seems knowlegeable, but surely does not know my son as well his travel team coach, who has coached him for 3 years. These questionaires are asking if the coach thinks he's Div I material, pro prospect material, character, etc. and these could probably be better answered by travel coach, but we don't want to do the wrong thing. Thanks in advance for any insight you can share.

It really doesn't matter. My son's HS coach would not even give kids communications that he had received from colleges, he would either throw them away of stick them under his office blotter.

We used a travel team coach to fill in the short evaluation section. It really doesn't matter, because colleges will call the HS coach for his evaluation when they get serious.

Given how our son's HS coach worked, I asked 2 college coaches if it mattered. Their response was they wanted the info, they didn't care who signed it or whether their was a coaches evaluation or not.
