(A) In your opinion what is the best performing bat available in the market?

(B) What is the most popular bat you see being used?

(C) Do you use wood (bamboo, maple or bamboo/maple hybrid composite ) bats for conditioning or batting practice?

Your answers will be greatly appreciated.

Dr Jay!

I saw your post in the other forum, and I do think a drop 5 would be a great addition to any young players collection. Many are growing so rapidly that bat wt/lgth is ever changing, to maximize their preformance.

Demaraini has been my sons "golden" bat of choice,(we have tried many threw the years) although he pretty much swings wood in practice, and he like composite.

From a parents opinion. . . AFFORDABLE is the thing that would control a great deal of the market. Bat prices are ridicious IMHO! Especially when they are growing/training like crazy!
The most durable bat I have seen in recent years is the TPX Dyanasty. It also has very good performance. IMO its the best bat out there when you combine durability and performance.

The hottest bat I ever saw were the Worth bats I cant remember the name. But they would launch a baseball it was ridiculous. The only problem was they wouldnt last a week. But while they did last they were sick.
The bats I saw in the bat rack last summer were mostly Stealths and Exo's. My son uses an Exo. He's been using wood bats for BP since he was ten. We play mostly wood bat in fall ball. I buy whatever Louisville Slugger is available in the $40 range.

Bamboo bats are tossed from our tournaments if discovered. Bamboo is not wood. It's grass. The way the chutes are compacted into bats makes their density illegal in wood bat tournaments.

The Anderson bat is a preteen bat. I've heard the -3's break down quickly in high school ball. The word is the bat can't stand up to the high impact of high school pitching and bat speed.

Training bat. I would like a traing bat that I can adjust the swing weight. A screw or something so I can make it end heavy or balanced. Also this bat needs to be Cage friendly , meaning less sting on the hands - the 2 piece bats do a good job , but now the make the handle stiff and there is more sting. I want a more sponge feel. This way I can bat without by batting glove to have a better feel of the bat.

I know you asked about bats, but since were talking about training. I need a ball that lights in the dark. With winter here, its hard to get throwing done. It doesnt need to be hard ball, but needs to weigh 5 oz.

I know you wana help me Smile
Thank you for the input Coach May, RJM, and LAball.

Coach May: I know Worth had a great softball bat EST and a new version PST. I will try to find the name of their baseball bat.

RJM: Yes, I like EXO also. I have many customers who use my Bamboo and Bamboo /Maple composite bats in the games and have given great feedback. They are more popular than my Maple bats. I guess, it depends on the tournament to let kids use bamboo or not.

LAball: In my previous position, we did make such a training bat. The problem was that design and manufacturing was complicated to prevent failures of the weight attachments. It was expensive also, There was little demand and hence we discontinued. Which part of LA do you live in?

Jay

I guess thats why I dont do what you do. But dang I would pay 300 for a good training bat, I dont like to pay much for game bats. Maybe a water chamber you can inject or suck out to control weight. crazy

It was a cold 74 in San Gabriel, LA today Wink
I lived in southern CA for twenty-two years. How's the smog, traffic and taxes today?

Happy to report smog and traffic is down thanks to high gas prices. Gas prices are down now though , but most people have learned there lesson . Sales tax might go up to 10% if the Govinator has his way....
