I was on the field recently. Incredible lines! Very fun outfield wall. Coach Hedrick and Coach Beazley deserve a ton of credit for their vision. They have high fences, low fences & asymmetry. Big league style bull pen out beyond the right field fence. Beautiful dugouts and stadium seating. And literally on the train tracks.

But they took a page out of U of R's book. How do you build all of this and don't include a public restroom? Perhaps that is in phase 2?

I'll be visiting Ashland for some games this spring.

That's how they roll down in Ashland, take advantage of your wooden outdoor surroundings! Smile

I am sure, those facilities will become part of RMC's Hugh Stephens Field @ Estes Park when other funds become available.

There are restrooms in the dugouts. I suspect they'll make do with portable units for the spectators for a while.

Having been on this field, I can tell you it is just wonderful in all respects. The setting is beautiful, the field is in terrific shape, the stands have great sight lines and comfortable seats -- the overall experience would make many D-1 programs green with envy.

It's no wonder RMC is recruiting to beat the band and no doubt will be on the D-3 charts in years to come.
Rumor has it that they will open up dugout rest rooms to parents and spectators in between the 2nd and 3rd inning and then again after the the 6th! Donations welcomed!

Just kidding. And I'm not that hung up on that issue. The entire facility is stunning. Look for RMC to compete on a national level very soon. A lot of D1 "bubble" guys like their chances of potentially playing every day and playing deep into the post season. As opposed to the countless kids that can count their AB's on 2 hands at the BIG schools!

This has felt like a spring week. Can only hope that the weather holds because I know a lot of people anxious to get back after it!

I was wondering how you could build a new stadium without bathroom facilities in this day and age, new construction, ADA, etc,. My son was at the field for an event this summer and he remembered bathroom facilities nearby. Right next to the field. Here is a diagram (field #75, bathroom #74):

The Estes family has really added some wonderful new athletic facilities in the Richmond area.
