Should the Rangers just take the bullet for another year and try to start up a young franchise or should they get some older veterans next year and try to make playoffs?

I think they've already made that decision -- last I heard they were targeting a playoff run in 2009. Seems like a difficult pill to swallow for season ticket holders and Ranger fans. I'm sure they won't roll-back ticket prices. But -- unless you have a boatload of money and a willing owner -- there is no simple model for overnight success....especially in a hitter's ballpark. My son (as a STH) was invited to meet with John Daniels. I'm interested to hear his reaction to the meeting.
