Ken,

What could possibly be your purpose in posting that Email?

We have sent that to coaches all over the country that we feel are involved in high class, high level programs. We even send similiar emails to college coaches. It's not a JOKE... Our business revolves around identifying talent and creating opportunities. This is the first time I've ever seen it posted on a public messageboard, let alone one that we try to help support!!!

Jerry,

Unfortunately my humor was misunderstood again.

I've deleted it in efforts not to offend you or your organization.

Call for clarification if interested.

Ken,

Guess I saw it more as throwing fuel on the fire rather than humor!

I saw the other thread and comments about comparing everyone to those who participate in PG events. When will people understand that well over 70% of the draft the last few years participated in PG events? Seems like that would be a good basis for comparison to me, especially when over 90% of the first round over the past 8 years has attended a PG event. However, the actual rankings list some players who have never attended a PG event.

That said, we are not anything special, just work very hard every day trying to do the best we can at some things that are very difficult.

BTW, I have nothing against humor. Don't think I often misunderstand it, either.

Jerry,

Your taking this way too hard.

I suggested you call me if you cared for explanation.

Since you posted, I assume it's ok to discuss publicly.

In this case, you did misunderstand the humor. No big deal. I deleted it.

If you lived in the heated summer ball waters of Texas you most likely would have laughed a little.

No reason to justify your organization with statistics on how many players played a PG event and got drafted.

Heck, a HS ball coach could argue and say 100% of the players drafted played HS ball at some point. What's the big deal?

Thinking I should re post what was deleted so this thread doesn't paint such a bad picture for everyone.

Lighten up folks.........it's the internet and baseball.

It's supposed to be fun regards,

Ken,

Not once have I poked fun at you or the organization you work with or any other organization.

Yes, "nearly" but not all players played in high school at one time. We only see a small fraction of all those players and over 70% of those drafted and 90% of the first round picks are in that group that we see. It's a very good group to use when comparing talent... which was the point I was making.

I live in the heated world of baseball period! Texas doesn't have a monopoly on that. What Texas has is a lot of talent and some outstanding teams along with many people we have a lot of respect for.

Players are what we are interested in, whether they participate in our stuff or not. In fact we have a couple guys working down there right now and of course we aren't running an event there at this time.

Personally, I'm getting a bit tired of the old "lighten up folks" ****! Everyone knows it's the internet and baseball. Some just go about things differently and with more class.

To follow your lead... Please don't take this as an effort to offend your organization. I have the highest regard for that organization and some of those involved as well as several others in Texas. Thus the email which we wouldn't send to someone we don't respect!

This is more of an effort to try to understand why one person would post a private email on a public messageboard. Not that there was anything wrong with the email you posted and then deleted.

Yes... I take that way too hard!!! and completely fail to see any humor in it. Sorry!
Jerry,

I can see my offer for verbal explanation will not be executed.

No problem on my end. I respect your choice for public discussion and/or explanation.

I think the biggest issue here is I post with a real name which allows for a more personal reaction.

Maybe a fake name will allow me more leeway.

Because others will see our dialogue that continues, I've opted to repost the original topic.

I will repeat, my post was not meant to attack you or your organization.

My post was to make a few smile instead of beating their heads with a hammer from reading the monotonous stuff that sometimes frequents here.

Again Jerry, no hard feelings.

Thinking "Absorbed Idiot" will be a good fake name for me regards,
